Thank you to all those who took the time to nominate us and vote for us! Voting closed on December 18, 2025, and the winners were announced on January 8, 2026. Winning the Award is one of the most significant endorsements a business can receive within North America, and so we consider this to be a BIG deal!
We have now won the award in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, and we are very proud of what we have achieved.

What is the Top Choice Award?
The Top Choice Award is a North American Award Program which recognizes local business in cities throughout Canada and some in the United States. It has existed since 2004 and is considered “the leader in the business awards industry.” At the time of writing, Top Choice Award surveys business in 32 Cities in Canada. This is significant because their award winning process is customer driven. Within each city Top Choice Award picks various customer services to obtain feedback from nominations and votes. The company headquarters location is in Vaughan, Ontario.
How does the Top Choice Award Process Work?
There are four steps to first place.
- Nomination – The First Step is for happy customers to nominate their favourite local business between January and September 15th. We hope we come into that category.
- Qualification – Next comes the iTrustLocal Qualification Process.
- Eligibility requires a minimum of 2 years in business.
- 25 online reviews are needed at a minimum of 4.2 stars to qualify.
- Reputable awards received elsewhere will also be taken into account.
- An assessment of complaints is reviewed.
- In addition, social media presence and local community interactions are factors.
- Listing – Qualified Businesses are listed on iTrustLocal.com. iTrustLocal is a local business directory of vetted, qualified businesses. From the Listings, some (and only some) companies will become a nominee in the Top Choice Awards Survey.
- Voting – Once Qualified, categories are selected. Nominees are given a voting link. Voting takes place between November and December.
- The Results – Not really a fifth step in the process but the one that becomes most significant to us a Dang Good. After the results are counted, winners are announced early in January.
How Do You Win the Top Choice Award?
There is no guarantee of a win as it depend on votes from customers. However, if you are nominated, Top Choice Award provides you with a unique link to your category making voting easier. So exposure is important as is a relationship with your customers. Providing great customer service, then asking them for your vote and advising them on why it is appreciated, helps a lot.
The Top Choice Award recognizes businesses that receive the most votes in their annual survey run by iTrustLocal. However, there is more to it than that. More importantly, the survey collects feedback which helps to enhance customer service.
What does it mean to win the Top Choice Award?
Firstly, winning the Top Choice Award is a way to let our local customers know they are dealing with a reputable company. Secondly, it recognizes the hard work and dedication of our team. Thirdly it provides a platform to showcase Dang Good Carpet and Furnace Cleaning and helps us distinguish ourselves within our service industry. Finally, it gives us a greater online presence and ultimately helps bring in business.
