Duct Cleaning generally tends to refer to the cleaning of the whole HVAC system. HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. One major component of the Heating and Cooling system is the Ductwork. The ductwork is a series of metal ducts or tunnels that provide a channel through which air flows to either heat or cool your home.
Each room in the home tends to have a series of vents. The vents are the grids you see in the wall, ceiling or floor. These are situated at the opening of a duct for air to either be sucked in or out.
The smaller vents are often referred to as the hot air vents. Although that is not strictly the case. When central air conditioning is available, then those same vents provide cooler air for lowering the temperature.
The larger vents you see are the return air vents. As the name suggests, the air needs to be returned to the furnace or air conditioner. Furnace Cleaning, Vent Cleaning and Duct Cleaning are used interchangeably. The components of the furnace are an integral part of the cleaning process.
Often, people ask whether duct cleaning is worth it. See our section below on whether Furnace and Air Duct Cleaning is necessary. In addition you can find out more in a blog post we wrote on the advantages of duct cleaning.
Often when Residents of Alberta want to improve Indoor Air Quality, they look to Air Duct Cleaning as a solution. But how are the two connected? Take a look at the section below where we discuss the Relationship between Indoor Air Quality and Air Duct Cleaning.
A comprehensive cleaning of the elements in your Forced Air Heating System is carried out. The furnace itself is cleaned as well as the vents and registers, returns, diffuser, grilles and heat exchanger. Guidelines recommended by QUADCA and NADCA are followed. For our process see the section below on the Best Way to have your Furnace Cleaned.

The positive correlation between Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Air Duct Cleaning is still in debate. Little research has been done on its effectiveness. Furthermore, what research has been done, stems back more than twenty five years ago with approximately thirty homes.
The Environmental Protection Agency in the US, the EPA, asserts in an article entitled: “should you have the air ducts in your home cleaned?" that no company can definitively state that air duct cleaning prevents health issues. Likewise there is insufficient scientific evidence for us to unanimously make the claim that dust and other particles increase in the air as a result of dirty ductwork.
Nevertheless, there are those who believe that Duct Cleaning may help improve Indoor Air Quality. And their assertions are backed up with circumstantial evidence.
One family in particular spoke in a news video about finding relief after having a furnace cleaning service.
Some of our customers also speak of noticeable improvements to Asthma and Allergy Symptoms. Two of our customers in particular (who gave us 5 Star Google reviews), noticed a difference after we had carried out an Furnace Cleaning for them.
The answer may be subjective and might simply depend on how much time you spend on cleaning other large ticket items in your home. Would you not consider cleaning the Furnace and Vents in the same way you would have your carpets or upholstery cleaned?
If the above photo and testimonials do not convince you that Vent Cleaning might help with Indoor Air Quality, take a look at this video on all The debris that gets removed when you get an Air Duct Cleaning.
Replacing your Furnace Filter on a regular basis is important for the safety and efficiency of your furnace as well as for your Health. Read our Blog on Why Furnace Filter Replacement is so Important.
A regular scheduled Furnace cleaning helps keep your Furnace running safely and efficiently, giving you peace of mind that you are doing all you can to avoid a breakdown. It helps lower fuel bills which will ultimately save you money especially at such Dang Good Prices.
We recommended you have the Furnace and Vents cleaned every two years. Over time, dust and grime build up in the Furnace and Ductwork putting a strain on the smooth running of the furnace and adding extra, unnecessary dust particles into the home. A Regular Professional Furnace Cleaning helps keep your Furnace performing as it should.
Our Teams are often surprised by what finds its way into the Duct System! In addition to seeing a build up of general debris and pet hair, we have seen pet toys, children’s toys, underwear, and photographs! How and why these items get into the vents is a little puzzling for sure but all of them provide a potential fire hazard risk.
Need a Better Reason for having the Ductwork regularly cleaned?
The picture below says it all!
Don’t cough and sneeze needlessly when for so little cost and with such Dang Good Prices, the excess dust in the home can be removed! And an added-bonus there may be less dusting needed too.
Isn’t it bad enough that Albertan’s are often cooped up for days because of our sub-zero winter temperatures?
Allergens from Pet hair and other pollutants are not good for those suffering from Asthma or other Respiratory Illnesses. A Regular Air Duct Cleaning may help eliminate those contaminated airborne particles!
Check out our blog post on The Benefits of Duct Cleaning.
The last thing you need is a break down during those Harsh Alberta Winter Months!

Powerful, Efficient, Effective.
We use the Push-Pull Negative Air Pressure Method For Our Furnace & Air Duct Cleaning, as recommended by QUADCA (Qualified Air Duct Cleaners Affiliation). Dang Good is a member of QUADCA
For our process, the air is compressed at 250 PSI. The Negative Air Pressure creates a powerful pull to suck out all the dust and debris.
Our Furnace Cleaning technicians will start the cleaning process with the air duct vents furthest away from the furnace and gradually work their way towards the furnace. As dust and debris are pulled from vents by the negative air pressure, other tools are used to push and agitate the dirt and grime simultaneously.
The dirt will be forced into the main trunk line of the Duct System. It is then sucked into the large powerful vacuum which is attached to the furnace by the Cleaning Technician at the beginning of the furnace and vent cleaning process and subsequently removed from the home.
Our Trucks use Modern Super Powerful 'Truck-mounted' Vacuum Equipment.
Are you about to move into your new home? Whether it be a brand-new home where contractors have been on site or simply a new home to you, that has had existing residents, why not make Cleaning and Sanitization a priority and ensure that your home is truly clean for your new life transition.
Have you recently had renovations done? Drywall and dust particles can accumulate in the Duct System especially if you forgot to cover up all those vents while the work was being carried out.
Do you have pets with medium to long hair? You would be surprised at the accumulation of pet hair we can find whilst cleaning Heating and Cooling Systems. Just take a look at some of the pictures on this page if you need convincing.
Do your children poke things down the Vents. Just take a look at the image above for what we can find in the Ductwork.
In addition, pet dander, (although not visible), can be a nightmare for those with allergies. For those with the unfortunate combination of having pets and allergies we would highly recommend that the duct-work be sanitized once its been cleaned to remove any lingering bacteria.
Finally we have cleaned some homes where dead mice and mice droppings or other vermin have been evident in the HVAC System. What better reason to get a Furnace and Duct Cleaning than for hygiene and health?

Skeptical about our Prices? Leery about what you are paying for? That is understandable. You may have seen it said… “Avoid the $99.99 House Special".
We too would not necessarily recommend going for the cheapest, unless the cheapest is also the best. A rare combination, yet, our Pricing Structure is very straight forward. For one Furnace and Up to 5 vents you pay $99.99. However, all vents (Hot and Cold) do need to be cleaned and currently extra vents are $10 each. There is also a Waste Disposal Fee (see the Footer) and GST.
More Pricing is on our Contact Page.
We have had customers say that they were suspicious about our prices, but they took the chance after seeing our reviews. Not only did they not regret it, they ended up giving us a 5 Star Google Review of their own to emphasize the point.
See our Air Duct Cleaning Cost – Blog Post for a Comprehensive Look at Pricing.

Cleaning the indoor lint filter alone is not sufficient to avoid the risk of fire in your dryer vent. Over time, dust and lint build up on the outside vent too. Clogged Vents can also detrimentally affect the performance of the dryer. Why not take advantage of our Add-on feature when booking your Furnace Cleaning service? The cost of dryer vent cleaning is $59.99 plus GST for a main floor or basement dryer vent.
A reverse whip, attached to our powerful truckmount is pushed right up inside the dryer vent and agitated to suck out all the stubborn lint. This powerful process makes it unnecessary to take the dryer vent apart. We would suggest at the very least having your Dryer Vent Cleaned every time you book at Furnace Cleaning Service.
Named on The Best Calgary Site as One of the Best Dryer Vent Cleaning Services.
